JIMMIE LANDRY

Elected to the Justice of the Peace position November 8, 2022.

Jurisdictional Area: Ward 4(Hessmer area), Avoyelles Parish, La.

Duties include settling disputes involving less than $5000, handle disputes between Landlords and Tenants, act as ex-officio Notary Public on bills of sale and donations, hold litter court, issue peace bonds and arrest warrants.

LANDON SMITH

Elected as Constable of Ward 4, Avoyelles Parish.

The Constable's duties include serving as bailiff for Justice of the Peace Court, serves warrants and civil papers such as notice of eviction, subpoenas, temporary restraining orders and garnishments.  Constables are also authorized parish wide to investigate litter violations.
